Spiritual Homework
paramahansa yogananda

Offering spiritual homework has been a long-standing tradition of Self-Realization Fellowship ministers. For years, Brother Anandamoy gave spiritual homework at the end of his convocation talks. Today, Brother Satyananda, Glendale Temple's minister-in-charge, posts monthly assignments on his temple's website. Our Spiritual Homework forums offer an opportunity to respond as a supportive spiritual community to Brother Satyananda's monthly homework assignments. Please visit Glendale Temple's Spiritual Homework archive page for the specific assignments:

Spiritual Homework offers devotees the opportunity to think deeply and express themselves on vital topics, including which spiritual actions can quicken our process of self-realization and learning how we can make our highest dreams come true. Please use our forums to share your insights and experiences with the Spiritual Homework and to learn from other devotees!

Spiritual Homework Forums

Each new homework assignment will include a summary teaching, a specific invitation to apply the teaching, and supporting quotations with further reading. Those who wish may register for our forms and share their efforts, experiences and insights as they have applied the teachings in their lives. These forums are intended to focus specifically on applying the aspect of the teaching introduced and participants are requested to keep their comments on topic. For this purpose there is a terms of use agreement offered when registering for the forum.

Spiritual Homework has been popular with many as a way to integrate the Guru’s teachings into daily life. Devotee2Devotee invites all registered site users to take part in the spiritual homework assignments, and to share with other students and disciples their experiences, challenges and inspirations in applying these teachings.
